Prior to The Hotel Inventory, there was no place to go for hospitality professionals to market hotels for sale with the level of sophistication, style and service that we offer. The Internet is littered with mediocre websites that had hospitality focus, but none that offered a full suite of services that The Hotel Inventory offers, such as marketing collateral creation, marketing campaign design and video presentation production.
Although there were more established websites available, they tended to focused on other commercial real estate industries such as office space and retail space. There were no established websites that focused on hospitality real estate sales. This void drove The Hotel Inventory’s founder, Robert Prince, to get to work right away. As a marketing and advertising director for a national hotel brokerage firm, it was easy for him to see that there was a great deal of opportunity to create a service that the entire hospitality community could benefit from.
In mid-2009 the idea for TheHotelInventory.com was born and by 2010 the idea had become reality. THI picked up steam much faster than we had forecasted. After just 12 months of operations, the team had marketed over 200 hotels worth over $1.5 billion dollars.
In late-2010 we started our e-mail marketing services and began sending out e-mail campaigns that would reach out to thousands of people. 12 months after the service began, THI had sent out over 1 million emails generating thousands of inquiries for our users. Some of those inquiries turned into offers and subsequently the sale of the hotel.
